REV. FR. DR. O. THOMAS

Rev. Fr. Dr. O. Thomas received his M.A from Kerala University and his B.D., M.Th. and D.Th. from Serampore University.  Rev. Fr. Dr. O. Thomas also received counseling training from Vellore Christian Counseling Centre and a P.D.B.T. from London Heythrop College.   He was ordained as priest in 1982, and has served as Vicar of parishes in Chennithala, Karuvatta, London Mar Gregorios, and Muthukulam, Muttom.  He currently serves as the Professor and Bursar of the Orthodox Theological Seminary (OTS), and as the Director General of the Orthodox Sunday School Association of the East. His additional titles include Director of Prathyasha Counseling at OTS and Parumala, member of the Sabha Working Committee, and member of the Managing Committee of the Parumala Seminary. Fr. Dr. O. Thomas has served in many roles such as a teacher at the seminary, a convention speaker, a counselor, an author of many periodicals and books, and as the General Secretary of the Youth League/MGOCSM for ten years. Most recently, Fr. Dr. O. Thomas served as the Priest Trustee of the church. Fr. Dr. O. Thomas has served in eight parishes.

We were also blessed to have Rev. Fr. Dr. O. Thomas join us last June in Chicago to lead the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Christian Family Organization (MOSCFO) convention.  Throughout the weekend, Achen visited St. Gregorios Cathedral (Bellwood), St. Gregorios (Oak Park), St. Thomas, and St. Mary and talked about the importance of family relationships.  He emphasized how relationships start in the family and then reach out to the church and society.

MR. TENNY THOMAS

Mr. Tenny Thomas was originally pursuing his doctoral studies at Oxford University when he received an opportunity to undertake a fellowship at Columbia University (New York) three years ago. He is currently a PhD student at the Department of Religion and Theology at Columbia University and Union Theological Seminary.  Tenny also serves as the Director of FOCUS (Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in the United States) and works as an Assistant Editor for the National Council of Churches.
