MGOCSM - Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Student Movement was established in 1908, Madras India.  The purpose for such an organization was to develop a spiritual environment in which Indian High School & University students could engage in a structured holistic life.

Madras students along with senior leaders of the church opted for such a vision and with that a initial title of 'Syrian Student Conference' was assembled.  It was not until 1960 that the organization adopted the present name MGOCSM.  

Structured parameters were set in place for the organization with disciplined anchors of

It is by these means we as a Orthodox Christian Student should format our lives.  Worshiping Christ through song and prayer for all he is within the awesome power of the trinity with God as the father.  Studying about our Orthodox faith, Bible studies, and maintaining our own academic goals and career ambitions with the Lord God as our center.  Finally, service to the ones for those who have not witnessed Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Providing the community in which we live in with a service of aid and resources at our disposal just as Christ did on Earth.  Our Central Chicago Region has been reaching for such goals amongst our youth. Through acts of fellowship and devout prayer we have been growing each year and developing a strong relationship between our God and Church.
